The first weekend of June 2017 marked the beginning of Dragon Force Academy’s play on its home field, “The Dragon’s Den”, located at the Portuguese Cultural Centre in Bradford, within the newly formed Ontario Soccer Academy League (OSAL). The new league is part of the Ontario Soccer Association and is a “pilot project consisting of 13 private academies, which will align with Ontario Soccer’s player development pathway.”

Dragon Force U14 to U17 did extremely well this weekend, winning three of their four matches:

U14: FC Porto DF vs ADP (7-2) (W)

U15: FC Porto DF vs ADP (6-2) (W)

U16: FC Porto DF vs Brampton Elite (8-1) (W)

U17: FC Porto DF vs GPS Academy (3-4) (L)

Standout player of the weekend was Nathan Ferreira, who played for both the U14 and U15 teams and scored a total of five goals!

As for the younger teams, according to Ontario Soccer Association rules, scores are not officially kept for teams from U12 and down. But we can say that all the DF teams played very well and scored many goals.

The U9 player Jaden Goldin-Sinclair scored the first hat-trick of the season and, along with his team mates, played amazing.

The U10 team struggled in a fantastic and very emotional game where the Dragon Force players scored some sensational goals.

Ethan Araujo on U12 team scored a brilliant goal in a game against a very tough opponent.

Congratulations to all the Dragon Force players and teams this weekend. Keep up the hard work!
